Receptor tyrosine kinase ROR1 is an
embryonic protein that is overexpressed in various types of malignant tumors. ROR1 has been shown to inhibit apoptosis, potentiate EGFR signaling, and induce epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). (Fig.1) Additionally, ROR1 only exists in embryonic tissue and is generally absent in adult tissue, making the protein an ideal drug target for cancer therapy. To date, several therapeutic strategies such as small-molecule drugs and mAb against ROR1 have been developed and evaluated in clinical trials and preclinical studies.
